At 3Birds Template, we’re big fans of the Volkswagen Beetle, so you can imagine our excitement when we learned that Volkswagen of America recently announced the production of the #PINKBEETLE as a 2017 model, adopting the social media hashtag as the official name of the fresh fuchsia car.
The #PINKBEETLE will be available in coupe and convertible configurations; pricing will be announced as the launch of this limited-edition VW gets closer.
Built with a 1.8-liter turbocharged direct-injection TSI® engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, the eye-catching car will produce 170 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Eye-catching paint, glossy black mirror caps, and black running boards accompany 17-inch multi-spoke Linas aluminum-alloy wheels on the coupe, while convertibles will feature an 18-inch five-spoke Twister design. LED Daytime Running Lights, LED taillamps, and LED license plate lighting come standard on both models.
While the exterior is eye-catching by itself, you should take a look at the interior. A black dashboard is surrounded by matching pink accents and a leather steering wheel. Pink Club cloth seats replace the classic red striping with a pink plaid design, and the Volkswagen MIB II infotainment system comes standard in both models, giving you seamless connectivity for your compatible devices.
The infotainment system includes a 6.3-inch touchscreen that allows for controls like swiping and pinch-zooming, and a proximity sensor detects when a hand is nearby to change the display, allowing easier selection of specific features. Other standard features include USB and Bluetooth® connectivity, a rearview camera, heated seats, and KESSY® Keyless access with push-button start.
