The 3Birds Template team enjoys hearing about Volkswagen success stories, and now we've got another one. At this year’s 15th Annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards, the most notable award went to the Volkswagen BUDD-e for being the “2016 Concept Truck of the Year.”
We are thrilled that the BUDD-e has been honored as 2016 Concept Truck of the Year and would like to thank the panel of judges for recognizing Volkswagen’s innovation. We are determined to lead the future of automotive design, and BUDD-e shows the capabilities of our all-new electric vehicle architecture and further advances connectivity and infotainment.
--Dr Hendrik Muth, Director of Product Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc.
The BUDD-e is an all-electric microbus that incorporates new technology to address consumers’ growing need for not only mobility, but utility as well. Some of these new technological features include:
- A 101 kWh battery for a range up to 233 miles
- Intuitive operation of features inside and outside the vehicle
- The latest infotainment and communication technology to make traveling a fully immersive and interactive experience
The BUDD-e beat out three other competitors for the “Concept Truck” category, which was assessed by cargo volume and weight capacity.
Volkswagen engineers and designers are always looking for ways to make your driving experience better, and the concepts included in the BUDD-e are proof that their hard work is paying off. Don’t be surprised to see some of these features in the future.
