The unveiling of a new model is never a dull affair, and that’s especially true when that model is a brand new Scion. At the 2015 LA Auto Show, Scion provided us all with a peek into the future and a glimpse at its “next iconic vehicle” with the global debut of the C-HR Concept Car.
Like the iM before it, the C-HR marks a growing trend of Scion vehicles debuting in LA. And like the iM Concept, the C-HR is intended for production.
The C-HR is named for its Compact size and High Ride height. It sports four doors and a hatch for increased functionality. Great emphasis was placed on the concept’s design, and it shows. The CH-R is clean and sophisticated. It bucks the trend of many modern SUVs with its distinctive design.
The high-riding concept is the perfect vehicle for “yuccies,” young urban creatives who inspired the design. In fact, when the designers for the Scion CH-R Concept began their research, they were told by young urban creative customers to be bold. The directive was simple: “Polarizing is ok. Boring is not.” As you can see, they listened.
There is no denying that design team embarked on a design that not only makes a statement, but reinforces the C-HR’s purpose as an urban lifestyle vehicle.
The real benefit of a car like the CH-R Concept – and its eventual production version, which will debut in 2016 – will be its ability to attract drivers that want a fun yet sophisticated vehicle that is as comfortable running about the city as it is venturing off the beaten path.
We at 3Birds Template can’t wait to learn more about the CH-R, and Scion says to expect more information regarding the vehicle’s timing and technical specifications closer to the debut of the production version.
Of course, if you’d rather not wait months for the CH-R, we recommend contacting or visiting us to test out the award-winning Scion iA and the equally compelling all-new Scion iM.
