There’s no question that the Porsche 911 is an iconic vehicle. For over 50 years, the 911 has thrilled the world with its daring looks and aggressive road presence. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that when a new sculpture was presented in the Porscheplatz in Zuffenhausen, Germany--where the first 911 was built in 1963—that sculpture would feature the 911.

Called “Inspiration 911,” the sculpture consists of three white pillars, each rising to 78 feet high. Each pillar is then crowned by a Porsche 911 from different generations, paying tribute to the car’s lengthy history.

The unveiling event took place on August 31, 2015 in the Porscheplatz, the space in front of the Porsche Museum. Not only was the plaza cast in an array of lights, vehicle choreography, and film, but the glass façade of the museum was used as well—as a screen to project film clips upon. The effect was dazzling, forming a visual display area larger than 2,100 square feet. In addition to showing off past generations of 911, attendees at the event got to see the current Porsche lineup as well.

Although the presentation of “Inspiration 911” has come and gone, you don’t have to travel all the way to Zuffenhausen to take a look at some Porsche models. Be sure to contact us today at 3Birds Template for more information on the Porsche 911, or stop by and check one out in person.
