3Birds Template has some exciting news: Hyundai is planning on bringing a pickup truck based on its Santa Cruz concept to American shores geared for "Urban Adventurers," and from what we know so far, it should be on the wish list of every adventurous Hyundai enthusiast. While it's still too soon to know when the model will be released, it's not too early to get excited about the greenlighted concept.
History of the Santa Cruz
First introduced as a concept vehicle at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Santa Cruz is being made with active urbanites in mind—people who don't consider themselves pickup drivers but still want the functionality of a truck. With the ability to cart bikes, kayaks, lumber, and other equipment but with the design and features of a city vehicle, the Santa Cruz is set to please working professionals who like to escape to the mountains (or lake, or beach, etc.) on the weekends.
Other compelling features
Set to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine, it's estimated that the Santa Cruz would offer 190 horsepower and deliver 300 pound-feet of torque. A generous amount of cargo space gives drivers the space to store all the essentials for a weekend adventure, plus it will come equipped with Hyundai's exclusive HTRAC all-wheel drive system, perfect for thrill-seekers of all stripes.
A new crossover/pickup truck would make a lot of Hyundai owners very happy, and if that includes you, contact us today to stay up-to-date on the latest Santa Cruz news. In the meantime, if you'd like to see any of our current Hyundai models, don't hesitate to call us to schedule a test drive.
