The Nissan Altima, the brand’s best-selling vehicle in North America, has been redesigned for 2016. The Nissan chairman and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, took a closer look at the Altima in New York last month. According to Ghosn, "Altima has experienced five consecutive years of sales growth, the only vehicle in the mid-size sedan segment to do so, with sales growing more than 60 percent since the start of the economic recovery in 2009." Ghosn says Nissan expects to be even more competitive with the new model.

Nissan sales have already surpassed expectations for 2015, passing one million units sold earlier in the year than ever before, and Nissan Group sales are up by 4.2 percent as of August. Nissan attributes this increase in sales to the 37 percent increase in Nissan Rogue sales and the 30 percent increase in Nissan Murano sales.

Sales are expected to soar even higher when the best-selling Altima goes on sale in November. The brand-new Altima has all-new interior and exterior design, advanced technology and connectivity, and better safety features like the Predictive Forward Collision Warning. The new Altima also comes with a new Altima SR sports model and best-in-class fuel economy of 39 mpg* highway.

The new Altima now has seven available trims. There are five trims that come with a 2.5-liter DOHC inline V4 engine that produces 182 horsepower (including the base model), and two that come with a 270 horsepower, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine.
