The time has come: the completely redesigned sixth-generation of the Volkswagen Polo has officially been revealed at a world premiere in Berlin, Germany. The new model is more spacious, sophisticated, and stylish, and while there is still no set date as to when (and if) it is coming to America, European buyers are certainly getting excited and ready to buy.

“The Polo is a young, fresh car,” says Herbert Diess, chairman of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management. “It combines charisma with strong technology. No other car offers so much space for its size.”

What sets the Polo apart

Available in five trim levels, the Polo has been updated with an impressive list of standard features, including LED daytime running lights, City Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Monitoring, and a speed limiter. Other exciting elements include the Polo's new generation of dash design and digital information displays, a higher-positioned infotainment screen (which makes it easier for the driver to adjust settings while keeping their eyes safely on the road), and an improved level of connectivity through a variety of new apps.

Klaus Bischoff, Head of Design for the Volkswagen Brand, commented on the Polo’s redesign by stating: "The much better proportions create the framework for a grown-up, confident appearance of the sixth generation Polo—charismatic, progressive, contemporary and friendly. We have systematically capitalized on this realignment of dimensions to build a compelling compact car.”
