The Jaguar InControl® Touch Pro™ infotainment system

As before, the 2018 Jaguar XJ comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system. Unlike its predecessor, however, the 2018 model sports a larger touchscreen (10 inches) and uses a quad-core processor to deliver incredible graphics and response times through the latest edition of InControl Touch Pro™.

Anyone familiar with a smartphone will be able to navigate the new system, which responds to pinch-to-zoom gestures as well as swipes and taps, and home screens can be customized to suit your aesthetic and organizational tastes.

Touch Pro™ can also learn your daily drive and suggest different routes based on historical and current traffic information to help you avoid congestion through Commute Mode, while Approach Mode can display a 360-degree interactive view of your destination once you're within 656 feet (200 meters) and even direct you to the nearest parking lot.

A suite of advanced driver assistance features

But more than simply making your life more convenient, the 2018 XJ's new tech upgrades can help make you safer as well. A series of cameras and sensors provide data to the sedan's Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) technologies, in addition to its Driver Condition Monitor (DCM) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) systems.

DCM checks for signals that drivers are tired (for example, long periods of little steering interaction followed by sudden periods of excessive input), and then displays multi-stage messages that indicate to the driver that they should take a break. The XJ's TSR system keeps a digital eye out for speed limit signs, even temporary ones, making it easier to remember what the limit is when the signs are out of sight. Even more impressively, TSR can alert the driver to upcoming changes so that they can smoothly adjust acceleration accordingly.
