Built to Face Life Head-On

The entire front of the Lexus IS has been transformed. Take one look and you’ll see new headlamps, larger air intakes, and a new version of the Lexus spindle grille. A redesigned hood and L-shaped LED daytime running lights sitting beneath the headlamps add subtle drama. An exclusive three-dimensional F-mesh pattern further adds to the athletic look on the IS F SPORT. Together, these new features emphasize a sporty, road-hugging stance.

The rear of the Lexus IS also sports modern design elements, including refined L-shaped LED light guides, chrome exhaust tips, standard 18-inch wheels, and two new paint color options: Caviar and Nightfall Mica.

Feature-Rich Interior

The IS doesn’t just look sporty on the outside; it carries that feel to the interior as well. From the moment you get behind the wheel, you’ll notice a redesigned wheel and instrument panel that houses a new speedometer and tachometer, as well as an analog clock and SmartAccess with push-button start.

There are also two multimedia systems available: the standard high-resolution Lexus Display Audio (LDA) with a 7-inch screen and 8-speaker audio, or an optional 10.3-inch screen. The standard navigation system utilizes the second-generation Lexus Remote Touch Interface (RTI), which makes it easy for the driver to access audio, phone controls, and more. A Mark Levinson® Premium Surround System with fifteen speakers is also available.

Other updated features include standard NuLuxe trimmed seating, a high-efficiency dual-zone automatic climate control system, power moonroof, HD Radio™, Bluetooth®, and standard heated seats in AWD models.

Plenty of Power

The 2017 Lexus IS has three available powertrain options: the IS 200t, IS 300 AWD, and IS 350, available in RWD and AWD. An F SPORT edition is also available for all three models, providing even greater handling and agility.

The rear-wheel drive IS 200t houses a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine under the hood that is capable of producing 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission uses an advanced G-force Artificial Intelligence system to intuitively select gears when driving, and the Variable Valve Timing intelligent – Wide system maximizes efficiency by allowing the engine to switch between the Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles.

If you’re looking for something that can power you through every season, the IS 300 AWD is for you. A 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission kicks out 255 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The electronically controlled all-weather drive system provides better grip and traction by varying front-to-rear torque distribution from 30:70 to 50:50.  

At the top of the line sits the Lexus IS 350. A 3.5-liter V6 provides up to 306 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. All models feature a Drive Mode Select system that allows drivers to choose between ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT modes for the best combination of comfort, performance, and handling in any situation. A SNOW mode is available on the AWD model.

Peak Performance

If you choose to upgrade to an F SPORT model, you’ll benefit from a multi-link rear suspension, 18-inch wheels, special suspension tuning, unique trim throughout the interior and exterior, heated and ventilated front seats, and a thrilling intake sound in the IS 300 AWD and IS 350 models.

Safety

Lexus places your safety at the top of our priority list, so you’ll find ten Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags standard and the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system on all IS models. This includes Anti-Lock Brakes, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control, and Vehicle Stability Control. New safety features include the standard Lexus Safety System+ with a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, as well as an available Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert system.
