The 2016 Lincoln MKX is now available at dealerships nationwide, and when Lincoln customers go to test drive the new midsize SUV, they will be introduced to what Lincoln calls, “Quiet Luxury”. This is a new standard that combines elegant design with upgraded safety features, an effortless ride, and a personalized experience. Lincoln manages to deliver a more personalized experience through a variety of customer-focused enhancements.
The MKX comes standard with a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 303 horsepower, but the most popular engine choice is the available 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged Ti-VCT EcoBoost V6 engine which turns out 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with push-button shift and SelectShift. Front-wheel drive is standard for the MKX, but drivers can also choose Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for a different driving experience.
Part of the Lincoln standard of “Quiet Luxury” is a safer, effortless ride. The automaker provides this thanks to a series of semi-autonomous safety features which include the new Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. This new feature helps lessen the severity of frontal crashes, automatically applying the brakes if a collision is imminent and the driver does not react quickly enough.
The MKX recently received a 5-Star overall rating from NHTSA, due in part to available adaptive steering which adjusts the ratio between a driver’s steering input and the steering angle of the front wheels, allowing for the optimal steering response under any circumstances. Coupled with standard electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) and a slew of other driver-assist features, this makes driving the new MKX both safe and completely effortless.
Elegant design is also promised with the new standard of “Quiet Luxury”, and Lincoln more than delivers in this department. At first glance, the new MKX exudes power and confidence. The sleek lines, aggressive stance, and stylish features make it a vehicle you definitely want to be seen in. Available full-LED front headlamps flank the Lincoln split-wing grille, while the integrated antenna hangs out in the “powerdome” located in the rear spoiler.
Inside, the MKX is both functional and luxurious. Occupants feel safe and comfortable, while still feeling a little adventurous. Lincoln has created an implied flow that extends from the instrument panel through to the doors. This gives passengers a sense of a larger space, while the high-end materials and thoughtful details give them a sense of refinement. Buyers will also have their choice of four designer themes in the Lincoln Black Label edition: two new—the Muse, inspired by 1920s Paris; the Thoroughbred, inspired by the excitement of horse racing; the Modern Heritage; and the Indulgence.
The new 2016 Lincoln MKX offers all this and so much more. The mid-size SUV starts at $38,995 MSRP;* be sure to stop by 3Birds Template today for a test drive, or contact us online for more information.
