
Annie Leibovitz is a world-renowned photographer who has worked with a variety of subjects, including celebrities, politicians, and literary icons. Never has she dabbled in automobile photography – until now.
Lincoln partnered with Leibovitz to capture the beauty and style of the highly anticipated 2017 Lincoln Continental through Annie’s use of bold color and unconventional posing. But before she ever viewed the Continental through her lens, she gleaned inspiration by reminiscing on childhood road trips and reflecting on the romantic characteristics of the open road.
The campaign, with the tagline “That’s Continental,” was shot in and around New York City with a small group of non-professional models from different artistic backgrounds. Leibovitz placed a firm focus on authenticity throughout the shoot, a trait Lincoln fully supports.
The campaign, which launched on October 10, encourages an authentic and genuine attitude through all aspects of life. “Being curious, being confident, wanting to know more … it’s the embodiment of Lincoln,” said John Emmer, group marketing manager of The Lincoln Motor Company.
Through her work, Leibovitz has set the Lincoln Continental apart, not just by beautifully capturing its redesign, but through truly interpreting everything the model stands for.
