Lexus recently unveiled the 2018 model of its wildly popular NX crossover at the Shanghai Motor Show. A number of visual changes will keep the NX fresh for the next few years. Lexus claims its smallest SUV is quieter and more refined thanks to some updates under the skin. The third best-selling vehicle in the Lexus line behind the RX crossover and ES sedan, the NX has been a huge hit in every market and looks poised to continue its success with the new generation.

3Birds Template has more details on it for you here.

Aesthetic improvements

Though the previous NX’s spindle grille remains, the vehicle has been reworked so the front bumpers flow more smoothly into the hood and doors. The result is a sleeker and more aerodynamic design.

The rear has also been refreshed. A redesigned bumper adds elements that draw influence from the front spindle grille. Both the headlights and taillights have been updated and resemble those on the Lexus LC. Other changes include reshaped exhaust tips, new 18-inch wheels, and a sensor that opens the rear hatch with the motion of a hand.

A number of subtle but notable changes made their way to the interior as well. The infotainment system has grown more than three inches from 7 inches to 10.3 inches. The controls for the infotainment system have also been updated with many of the control knobs and switches receiving a metallic satin finish.

Other notable changes

Beyond aesthetic changes, the NX is equipped with the automaker’s Lexus Safety System+, now standard on all Lexus models. This includes emergency braking, radar cruise control, lane departure warnings, and automatic high beams.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine remains unchanged, as does the hybrid system in the NX 300h. There have been updates to the suspension, however, which will improve both riding and handling.

Although we have some time to wait until Lexus announces a price and release date for the all-new NX, the automaker's current lineup is still fantastic.
