The Land Rover brand has undergone a bit of a renaissance in the past few years. While best known for its confident, capable, and luxurious SUVs. Land Rover has branched out with new models, such as the Discovery Sport and Evoque, the latter of which quickly cemented its popularity by becoming the best-selling Range Rover of all time.

And that momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. According to Automotive News, Jaguar Land Rover is investing $5.3 billion in new products this year.

But what exactly does that investment mean for current and future Land Rover customers? For one it means Land Rover is committed to expanding its presence in the automotive space. But it also means Land Rover customers can expect an even greater commitment to quality and innovative new products.

Speaking of new products and innovation, virtually every Land Rover is set to receive some sort of enhancement. The LR4, for example, will be renamed the Discovery when it is replaced in the next two years. The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will also get upgrades of their own. Land Rover’s flagship models will both get a new 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel engine later this year, which should boost fuel economy by 32 percent over the supercharged V6 gasoline engine.

Meanwhile, the Evoque is scheduled for a refresh later this year, which will coincide with the much-anticipated convertible model.

Not to be left out, the Defender, a model Land Rover hasn’t sold in the United States for four years, is making a triumphant return to this side of the Atlantic. Details are scarce at this point but rumors point to a new Defender lineup being offered stateside. The Defender line could debut as soon as 2018 and include five variants—including two two-door models, a four-door with a long wheelbase, and two- and four-door pickups.
