Making Terrain Response® Auto Even Better
If you're a Land Rover enthusiast (like we are at 3Birds Template), it's likely you're already familiar with the brand's Terrain Response® Auto system. For those that aren't, a brief explanation: Terrain Response® is a system that allows Land Rover drivers to make slight adjustments in how their vehicle handles based on road conditions like snow, ice, grass, etc. Terrain Response® Auto takes things a step further by allowing the vehicle to make those adjustments automatically.
As great as this system is, you can imagine our excitement when we heard that Land Rover is currently developing a system called Surface ID to make it even better.
Read the Road
Using a series of ultrasonic sensors, Land Rover vehicles with Surface ID will be able to "read" road conditions up to 15 feet ahead and make adjustments to the Terrain Response® system as necessary. Before, Terrain Response® Auto could only make those adjustments when the tires were actually in contact with the terrain in question, so this is a significant improvement.
Perfect for Autonomous Vehicles
Take into account the strides Land Rover is making in autonomous vehicles, and the benefits of Surface ID are obvious. The 3Birds Template team can't wait to see the system in action for ourselves, but we'll have to wait until it goes live.
In the meantime, we have plenty of technologically advanced models to tide you over until then. Don't hesitate to call, contact us online, or visit us at 505 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, NC 27516 today to learn more about them or schedule a test drive.
