The history of the Land Rover brand is a storied one. Since its inception in 1948, Land Rover has been about providing people with a rugged yet stylish way to explore the world, no matter where they’d like to go or what they’d like to do. The Land Rover Defender is the perfect example of this ideal, especially when considering the ease with which Land Rover enthusiasts have modified the base Defender to serve their needs. And don’t forget about the companies that will modify the average Defender into off-road titans.
Twisted Automotive, for example, has a wide variety of special builds, while Kahn Design has created a six-wheeled Flying Huntsman Defender pickup. But the latest and greatest transformation undergone by the Defender comes to us by JE MotorWorks. Called the Zulu2 Super Defender, this powerful vehicle demonstrates JE MotorWorks’ expertise when it comes to creating custom Defenders.
The Zulu2 Super Defender boasts a supercharged V-8 under its hood, a forced-injection monster from the Jaguar Land Rover family capable of 475 horsepower. The vehicle is throaty, too, with a stainless steel exhaust system that makes sure everyone knows how many horses the Zulu2 can harness.
As is to be expected, the Zulu2 Super Defender is not for the faint of wallet. Converting a standard Land Rover Defender into the Zulu2 costs roughly 150,000 British pounds sterling, or $230,000 in US currency. Those looking to supercharge their Land Rover, however, should consider the cost a small price to pay. How many other people can say they own a Zulu2, after all?
Unfortunately, the Land Rover Defender is a little tough to find these days but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy all the benefits of Land Rover ownership. Call, contact us online, or stop by 3Birds Template today to explore our large selection of new and pre-owned vehicles.
