Jaguar is setting out to raise the bar in the luxury sedan segment with the introduction of the 2017 Jaguar XF. Already unprecedented when it comes to driving dynamics and driver engagement, Jaguar is offering even more impressive dynamic ability with the new XF model.
The Jaguar XF features all-wheel drive (AWD) paired up with a four-cylinder diesel engine — a clean 2.0-litre Ingenium unit. This means that drivers get exceptional fuel efficiency as well as improved all-weather traction and performance.
One amazing feature is the Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD), a technology developed entirely in-house by Jaguar. It delivers rear-wheel drive character and agility, but also pushes torque to the front axle to enhance performance. Kevin Stride, Vehicle Line Director of the new model, says, “[We’re] making the performance and traction benefits of all-wheel drive accessible to more customers worldwide by combining the system with our clean, refined and efficient Ingenium diesel engines.”
Another aspect to look forward to is the Configurable Dynamics, which improve the driving experience by letting drivers customize settings for suspension, steering, throttle and transmission on the touchscreen. This gives the new Jaguar XF exceptional usability and practicality, and makes it one of the safest cars in its segment — it received the maximum five star rating from Euro NCAP.
The Jaguar XF boasts CO2 emissions from just 104 g/km along with class-leading unlimited mileage warranty and the lowest overall service costs in class so drivers can count on especially low running costs. Director of Group Sales Operations for Jaguar and Land Rover, Andy Goss, says, “Together with the performance and desirability our customers expect from Jaguar, the all-new XF’s efficiency, usability and low total cost of ownership are already proving very attractive to business users worldwide.”
Pair all of this with an impressive targeted fuel economy of 57.7 mpg and the fact that the Jaguar XF can achieve 0-60mph in just 7.9 seconds, and we're looking at one of the most appealing cars in the business class.
One last thing to mention is the Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR) technology, which can be added on for AWD-equipped XFs. This technology ensures that the car is set up to take full advantage of traction, which will make any driver more confident driving on even the iciest, most challenging roads. All in all, we're looking at a highly dynamic vehicle that will deliver outstanding all-weather performance and capability while still maintaining a luxurious sense of style.
