If there’s one thing fans have learned over Jaguar’s decades-long history, it’s that the company takes the time to get things right. No wonder people can’t stop talking about the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace, the luxury brand’s first-ever sport utility vehicle.
If you think of “crossover” as a dirty word, rest assured that the automaker is taking pains to avoid any dilution of the full Jaguar experience. At the same time, the F-PACE should open up the brand to a whole new audience of fans.
Beauty by design
By now, you probably know that the F-PACE shares its DNA—and its design team—with the C-X17 concept vehicle. Classic Jaguar elements, including the brand’s signature power bulge and short front and rear overhangs, take on a new look here. The F-PACE is also the third Jaguar vehicle to utilize Jaguar Lightweight Aluminum Architecture. The result is a vehicle that feels both confident and comfortable—not just for the driver, but for his or her passengers as well.
“The all-new F-PACE is an all-weather Jaguar sports car, life-proofed for five people and their belongings." – Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar
Powerful combinations
The F-PACE will launch with your choice of 340-horsepower and 380-horsepower supercharged V6 engines. Both are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an innovative torque-on-demand all-wheel drive system.
These choices are sure to rev up Jaguar’s performance-happy customers, but what about those looking for something a little more “practical”? To suit the latter audience, Jaguar will be releasing a 180-horsepower Ingenium diesel powertrain later in 2016. This environmentally friendly and technologically advanced engine will deliver impressive fuel economy with that signature Jaguar feel.
Test-driving the future
The F-PACE isn’t all brawn—it’s got plenty of brains, too, in the form of a variety of high-tech features and options. The Jaguar InControl® Touch system will come standard, featuring an eight-inch touchscreen with gesture-control functionality. Upgrade to the Jaguar InControl® Touch Pro system with 10.2-inch touchscreen and you’ll have a quad-core processor with high-speed 60GM solid-state drive at your disposal, offering connectivity speeds as thrilling as those of the F-PACE itself.
A limited number of F-PACE First Edition models will be made available during the first year of production. Paying homage to the original C-X17 concept, the First Edition brings the limitless potential of Jaguar concept vehicles to your garage.
With all this to look forward to, it’s no surprise that the F-PACE is one of “Car & Driver’s 25 Cars Worth Waiting For: 2016-2019.” We’re just as excited—and we can’t wait to share with you all that the new F-PACE has to offer. To stay in the loop about updates, contact us today.
