Buick has introduced the 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring, a new trim for the popular crossover. The new version stands apart from the original thanks to a unique exterior design including a winged rear spoiler, 18-inch aluminum premium-finish wheels, body-color door handles, and the 1.4-liter turbocharged engine featuring direct injection and stop/start technology.
The direct injection allows the turbocharged engine to produce 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque—11% and 20% more, respectively, than the standard Encore engine. The stop/start technology helps reduce fuel consumption in city driving. It automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle stops at traffic lights, and then automatically restarts when the driver releases the brake.
The new 2016 Encore Sport Touring will arrive at dealerships this fall. The crossover will have seating for five and offer a long list of standard features including the IntelliLink infotainment system, OnStar 4G LTE with a Wi-Fi hotspot, expanded cargo space including a fold-flat front passenger seat for hauling long items, ten standard airbags, QuietTuning with Bose® Active Noise Cancellation, and much more. The Encore Sport Touring also comes with the Buick Convenience package, which adds several more features.
