Infiniti has opened its fourth studio in the Infiniti global design network—Infiniti Design San Diego. The other three studios are located at the company’s design headquarters in Atsugi, Japan; London; and Beijing, placing Infiniti design professionals in the three leading premium brand markets—North America, Europe, and China.
Infiniti Design San Diego shares space with Nissan Design America as well as sharing resources such as clay and digital modeling, but all creative work is done inside the Infiniti design space. The Infiniti brand was initially launched in the United States, and has always been critical to the brand’s success, so it makes sense to have a design studio located in the U.S.
The new studio is led by Nissan Design America veteran and new Infiniti Executive Design Director, Alfonso Albaisa, who also has experience at the Infiniti studios in London and Japan. All four studios will work together to create new interior and exterior designs.
San Diego is an ideal location for the studio as California is a home to high tech and the arts. It provides much inspiration for designers, and therefore attracts the best talent. Infiniti has big plans to expand its model lineup based on a series of concept cars: the Q30 Concept, Q60 Concept, and the QX30 Concept. A production version of the Infiniti Q30 was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and should be available by summer 2016.
We can look forward to even more inspired designs to come from the San Diego studio. Call, contact us online, or stop by 3Birds Template today to learn more.
