If you’re a fan of MINI, the 3Birds Template team has an announcement that will make you love the brand even more. The automaker's first plug-in hybrid debuted at the UK Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 29 to July 2.

The new MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid is currently available for order and will arrive at retailers this summer.

Power

With 221 combined horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, this model is poised to take on any road you travel. Race from 0-60 mph in just 6.7 seconds (that’s quicker than the MINI Cooper S Countryman ALL4, by the way) and feel confident driving through a variety of road conditions with the eALL4 all-wheel drive.

Upon reaching a speed of 50 mph, the combustion engine will gently activate. Use the eDRIVE toggle to select all-electric mode if you desire. With an electric range of up to 25 miles, this option is perfect for driving to work or the store.

While you can use electric mode for short drives through town, you can also opt for hybrid mode and utilize a combination of your turbocharged gas engine and electric motor to power you smoothly to your destination. Need to recharge? Battery-save mode will help charge the lithium-ion battery while you travel.

Did we mention that in addition to a wall box or special plug, you can use a standard outlet to charge? MINI is making it easier than ever to go green.

Comfort and safety

MINI engineers have designed the hybrid model to keep as much cargo space and passenger room as possible. By laying the battery beneath the rear seat, the impact on leg room is minimized.

Standard convenience features include Bluetooth® capability, programmable climate control, roof rails, and more.
