The world greeted the longest MINI ever built last month in Germany, where MINI showed off the all-new 2016 Clubman at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Clubman will comfortably seat five, and is a marked departure from the previous generation’s design.

The 2016 Clubman features four added inches between the axles, making it the longest vehicle MINI has ever built. That brings total rear legroom to 34.3 inches, making it the roomiest MINI around as well, and ideal for drivers that want the dynamic driving characteristics of MINI, but with the added utility of more interior space.

At the rear, the oval taillights have been moved, and the 2016 Clubman retains its beloved twin barn doors, which swing open and allow for easy access to the vehicle’s spacious 17.5 cubic feet of cargo space. Hands full? The rear barn doors can open with a swing of your foot (with the Comfort Access system optioned). And with the second row of seats folded down, the Clubman’s cargo space swells to staggering 47.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

The 2016 MINI Clubman also offers numerous features that appear in a MINI for the first time. These include an electric parking brake, electrical seat adjustment function, and the optional MINI Yours Interior Styles with backlit door bezels.

With its six doors, spacious interior, and new features, the all-new 2016 Clubman is not your typical MINI. Drivers searching for all the fun and excitement associated with the MINI brand, but with something a little more practical in terms of daily driving, should check out the all-new Clubman when it arrives later in the year.
