When it comes to real estate it’s all about location, location, location. But when it comes to innovative plug-in hybrids, it’s all about range, range, and more range. Thankfully, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt delivers on all three fronts.

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt’s all-new Voltec extended-range electric propulsion system delivers 53 miles on pure EV range, based on EPA testing. For those keeping track, that’s nearly a 40 percent improvement over the first-generation Volt.

As a plug-in hybrid, the Chevrolet Volt also provides the flexibility of a gasoline engine. The next-generation model’s new 1.5L range-extender offers a combined EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 42 MPG, making it the ideal vehicle for short and long trips.

Part of what makes the Volt such an exciting vehicle to own and operate is the potential to drive without ever using a drop of gasoline. With improvements to the 2016 model’s range, Chevrolet expects many next-generation Volt owners will use power solely from their batteries for more than 90 percent of trips.

Amazingly, this means the average Volt owner could expect to travel well over 1,000 miles between gas fill ups, if they charge regularly.

Most automotive brands are content with developing vehicles they think customers want. But for the 2016 Volt, Chevrolet took a different approach. It’s no secret Volt owners are a passionate bunch, which is exactly why owner feedback played such an integral part in the next-generation Volt’s development.

“We listened to our customers,” said Andrew Farah, vehicle chief engineer in a press release. “They were very clear when they told us that they wanted more range, and a fun driving experience behind the wheel. We are confident that the 2016 Volt delivers both.”

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt is due to arrive this month in select cities, with a wider roll out to follow. For more information on the exiting new Volt, or any other Chevrolet model, don’t hesitate to contact us at 3Birds Template today.
