How has Chevrolet remained one of America’s most popular brands for over a century? Embracing the latest technology in smart, practical ways certainly hasn’t hurt. The 2016 Chevy Silverado HD is the brand's latest model to push the industry forward, starting with the addition of new Digital Steering Assist power steering on select trims.
What is Digital Steering Assist?
Digital Steering Assist is a new technology that enhances road holding and stability on the highway regardless of load status. Through the use of electronic controls, drivers will feel a noticeable difference when hauling and trailering, especially on crowned roads.
Digital Steering Assist will be available on some double cab and crew cab models. This feature is not available on Work Truck or regular cab models.
Equip your Silverado HD for trailering success
Digital Steering Assist is just one of the features available on the 2016 Silverado HD to make your towing and hauling experience easier. The new Gooseneck/5th Wheel Trailering Prep Package, available in early 2016 for gas and diesel models, includes everything you need to tow large trailers straight out of the factory:
- Frame-mounted hitch platform and tray (accommodates gooseneck ball hitch or fifth wheel hitch mounting brackets)
- Cargo bed-mounted trailer harness
- Spray-in bedliner
Chevrolet will also offer an available Gooseneck Completion Kit with a 2-5/16-inch ball hitch and two chain tie-downs.
Power and performance you can trust
The new Silverado HD will be available in a variety of configurations to suit your hauling needs, ranging from the base 2500HD to the 3500HD with dual-rear-wheel fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailering. The latter combination is rated at a maximum available trailering capacity of 23,200 pounds with the available Duramax 6.6-liter turbo-diesel and Allison 1000 six-speed transmission.
With those kinds of numbers, 3Birds Template only has one question: where will your Silverado HD take you?
