3Birds Template knows that if you're on the lookout for a powerful, dependable truck, Chevrolet is the brand for you. In fact, Chevrolet recently headed to Texas to showcase just how powerful its trucks are, setting the Guinness World Records™ title for the World’s Largest Flag Pulled by a Moving Vehicle in the process.

In this case, the truck that pulled the 40-by-80-foot long American flag was a 2017 Silverado HD equipped with a Duramax® 6.6L V-8 turbo-diesel engine. Thanks to its 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque, the 2017 Silverado HD's new engine not only produces 19 percent more torque over the current Duramax® 6.6L, it produces the most torque in a Chevrolet vehicle...ever.

As Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Truck marketing director, says, “The Duramax 6.6L’s 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque are dramatic numbers, deserving of a dramatic introduction. And it’s all the more fitting to introduce it on the eve of the State Fair of Texas, in the country’s largest truck market.”

To set the record, all the Silverado HD needed to do was travel at least 328 feet without the flag touching the ground. By the end of the attempt, the Chevy had gone four full laps around Texas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval, blowing the record out of the water.
