Full-size inspiration

Arriving this fall, the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will sport a new look inspired by the brand's full-size SUVs as well as next-gen technologies designed to keep drivers and passengers connected on the go. The new Traverse will have available seating for up to eight and a longer wheelbase than the current model, making it roomier than its competition. The new larger size is paired with premium details like chrome accents, LED signature lighting, and available D-Optic LED headlamps that add a real sense of refinement.

The new split-folding second-row seat is a marked improvement over the original Smart Slide® feature, with a seat that tips up and slides forward even with a forward-facing child seat in place. This provides easy access to the third row, which is expected to have best-in-class legroom with 33.7 inches. A new hands-free power liftgate makes loading the Traverse a breeze.

Chevrolet is adding two new trim levels, the sporty RS and the more luxurious High Country, to offer customers even more choice. The RS will feature intimidating blacked-out exterior cues with a black chrome grille while the High Country will feature premium content such as Loft Brown leather appointments with suede accents and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The latest connectivity and safety technologies

The newest connectivity technology from Chevrolet includes available 7- and 8-inch diagonal MyLink® infotainment systems that support Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, along with an available OnStar® 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Passengers will also have access to USB charging ports in all three rows, plus available wireless charging and steering wheel-mounted phone and audio controls.

For added protection and peace of mind, Chevrolet has made available a comprehensive suite of safety technologies including Surround Vision, D-Optic LED headlamps (standard on High Country and Premier models), Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Low and High-Speed Forward Automatic Braking. A feature called Teen Driver comes standard, which lets parents set certain controls and review performance in order to encourage good driving habits.

A more powerful V6

The 2018 Traverse will feature a new standard 3.6-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that should offer about 10 percent more horsepower along with a GM-estimated 25 mpg highway (FWD). This engine/transmission combo can support an estimated 5000-pound trailering capacity when properly equipped.

“The all-new Traverse offers the ultimate in style and convenience for the segment, with the versatility customers need and a thoughtful, spacious design they’ll love,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “It’s the midsize SUV designed to help keep you safe, comfortable and connected.”
