According to BMW, the 2016 M4 GTS is the automaker’s "most agile, radical, and powerful M4 ever." Fully 200 pounds lighter than the stock production M4, the GTS boasts a host of technological upgrades that turn an already thrilling vehicle into something out of this world. For example, the GTS gets the honor of being the world’s first production car to sport its water injection system. The system sprays a fine mist into the intake manifold to help absorb heat, which lowers the temperature of the intake air. This lets the GTS reach 493 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, 68 hp and 36 lb-ft more than the standard model.
But let’s get back to the weight of the GTS. By increasing the amount of carbon fiber and aluminum throughout the vehicle, pairing it with the water injection system, and adding a three-way adjustable coilover suspension, BMW has created an agile and powerful vehicle, one that’s as ready for the track as it is for the turnpike. In fact, BMW says the M4 GTS can run the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 7 minutes and 28 seconds.
You may not have the driving chops to make it around the track quite that quickly, but if you’re behind the wheel of the new BMW M4 GTS, you’ll have the power and the agility to do so. The US is only going to receive 300 of these amazing vehicles—and BMW is only going to make 700 of them at all—so be sure to contact us to learn if we have one available. The 2016 BMW M4 GTS hasn’t launched just yet, though, so stop by 3Birds Template to check out our current lineup in the meantime.
