There are plenty of reasons the 3Birds Template team loves the [OEM] lineup. [OEM] vehicles are safe, dependable, and endlessly surprising, so it's easy to see why we like them so much. But when it comes to the upcoming 2019 Volvo XC40, we couldn't pick one favorite feature—so we picked five. Here they are, in no particular order: the five coolest features of the new XC40 SUV.

1) It’s Volvo’s smallest SUV ever

Timeless Volvo design takes on a new shape in the XC40, the smallest Volvo SUV yet. The compact XC40 completes the automaker’s SUV range, joining the XC90, Volvo’s largest SUV, and the mid-sized XC60. But “compact” doesn’t mean “compromise,” and the XC40 has a lot to offer anybody looking for a stylish, small SUV that’s big on adventure.

2) Clever storage solutions

Volvo conducted global research into how compact SUVs are used and discovered that storage is key. The XC40 delivers with plenty of room for passengers and cargo alike, including thoughtful features to keep your life on the road more organized. For instance, a dedicated cell phone storage space helps keep cup holders free while a unique air-ventilated woofer behind the dashboard allows for more storage in the door panels.

3) Convenient connectivity

The XC40 will come standard with four years of Volvo On Call, a subscription-based service that keeps you in communication with your vehicle and allows you to share the car with trusted family and friends via a mobile app. The standard 9” Sensus Connect touchscreen provides access to apps such as Spotify®, Pandora®, and Yelp and allows you to pair your Apple or Android device using Volvo’s Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration.

4) Standard driver assistance features

With an abundance of standard safety and driver assistance features, the XC40 is one of the best-equipped small premium SUVs on the market. Volvo’s City Safety comes standard, including pedestrian, cyclist, vehicle, and large animal detection with emergency autobrake. Other highlights include Pilot Assist, a combination of lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control; Road Run-off Mitigation, which helps protect occupants in crashes where the car leaves the road; and Cross Traffic alert with brake support, which warns of crossing traffic when reversing.

5) Hybrid and electric options on the way

The XC40 will debut with a T5 four-cylinder Drive-E powertrain with all-wheel drive. However, more powertrain options will be available at a later date, including hybrid and pure electric versions. Stay tuned for more information from 3Birds Template.
