We’re going to go ahead and admit something earth-shattering: we’re big fans of the MINI brand here at 3Birds Template. And it looks like we’re not the only ones. Recently, MINI Plant Oxford built its three-millionth MINI, marking a major milestone for both the brand and for MINI lovers the world over.

The three-millionth MINI model to roll off the assembly line was a John Cooper Works Clubman – the first model to combine the latest John Cooper Works performance enhancements and a new ALL4 all-wheel drive system.

Production at the Oxford plant began back in 2001, where it pumped out 300 cars per day. Today, the very same plant produces around 1,000 built-to-order cars, with a workforce that is 4,500 strong. For all the math lovers out there, that’s nearly one MINI every minute! Blimey!

Perhaps even more impressive is that 80 percent of MINIs built at the Oxford Plant are exported to more than 110 markets across the world.

Since production began back in 2001, the popularity of the brand continues to grow around the world. The remarkable achievement that is the 3 millionth MINI is only surpassed by the collective passion and commitment that all MINI owners and fans share.

As the heart and home of MINI production, Oxford has a rich motor manufacturing history. The area has been building cars since 1913. The classic Mini, designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and launched in 1959, revolutionized the automotive world and was produced at Oxford until 1968 with a peak output of 94,889 cars during 1966-7.

Today, the Oxford plant’s assembly lineup includes three- and five-door MINIs, the MINI Clubman along with its first all-wheel drive ALL4 model – and the high-performance MINI John Cooper Works.

3Birds Template would like to congratulate all the hard-working folks at the Oxford plant and MINI owners like you. Here’s to another 3 million MINIs!
