Lincoln understands exactly what drivers are looking for in a well-rounded, comfortable experience, which is why the Continental comes prepared to deliver the perfect combination of style and performance.
The Perfect Ride for…
Anyone searching for a flagship sedan worthy of a hallowed name. This well-appointed, full-size sedan is perfect for cruising along on the highway or hugging the corners on winding back roads. Thanks to a variety of systems working in concert, the Continental is designed to offer you a serene ride no matter where adventure takes you.
Drive & Handling
The 2018 Lincoln Continental is powered by a hefty 3.7-liter V6 that produces 305 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It returns an EPA-rated 20 mpg combined (17 mpg city, 26 mpg highway) with front-wheel drive and 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.**
Lincoln also offers a pair of twin-turbocharged V6 engines. The 2.7-liter version musters 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, which gets 21 mpg combined (18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway) with front-wheel drive and 20 mpg combined (17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.** The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 produces a mighty 400 hp and 400 lb-ft. Available only with all-wheel drive, it also gets an EPA-rated 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway).**
The Continental’s all-wheel-drive system uses Dynamic Torque Vectoring, which shifts power between the rear wheels to improve responsiveness during cornering, while Lincoln Drive Control includes three settings—comfort, normal, and sport—that adjust steering and suspension settings for different conditions. Lincoln also offers adaptive steering, which can change the rate of assistance to suit different situations.
Key Features
Active Noise Control (ANC)
Designed to ensure your every drive is as serene as you want it to be, Active Noise Control helps reduce road noise with a clever bit of audio wizardry. Using a series of microphones to monitor the sound profile of the cabin, the ANC takes advantage of a signal processor to create inverted acoustic waves that cancel out unwanted noise. It's not easy to elevate the sound of silence to an artform, but Lincoln has managed to do so with ANC.
SYNC® 3
This infotainment system takes everything you love about the original SYNC® system and upgrades it. Enjoy voice-activated technology, hands-free calling, Apple Carplay™, Apple Maps, Android Auto™, Google Maps™, FordPass®, and much more. An in-dash screen reacts quickly to swipe and pinch motions, making it easy to control all of the available features from behind the wheel.
Alternative Options
For those looking for a slightly smaller sedan that's every bit as luxurious as the Continental, we recommend the Lincoln MKZ. It offers a smooth yet energetic ride, and is determined to delight occupants with its technological innovations. Those in need of something a bit more spacious should consider the MKT. Not only does the MKT provide the room you'd expect from a three-row luxury crossover, but it also sports unique styling that goes against the sterile designs seen elsewhere in its segment.
Whichever Lincoln you choose, you're sure to have a ride that is filled with comfort, convenience, and luxury.
