There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the release of the 2018 Buick Regal this fall. The new Regal will ship from Germany, and there’s more significance to that than the car’s design—the Regal will compete with the likes of the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 series, among others.  3Birds Template has more information for you here.

Now in its sixth generation, the Buick Regal is receiving its second revamp since returning to the market in 2011 after a brief hiatus. In one of the most radical changes for the new generation, there will no longer be a Buick Regal sedan. The outgoing sedan moves over for the newer offerings of the Sportback and the TourX body styles, two models based on the Opel Insignia.

The Sportback’s sloping rear roofline includes a large rear liftgate, as opposed to a trunk, and is reminiscent of what you may have seen on the Audi A7. Buick is calling its TourX a crossover, meanwhile, the automotive press believes a wagon is a more apt descriptor.

A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission power the front-wheel-drive Sportback. Start-stop technology is standard. An eight-speed automatic with all-wheel drive is optional on the Sportback and standard on the TourX. The all-wheel drive system also features a twin-clutch rear differential for better control in all conditions.
