Overview
Over 25 years ago, the original Lexus LS showed that luxury cars don’t have to be a pain to own. Since then, Lexus has combined Toyota quality and reliability with performance, comfort, and technology to rival old-school luxury brands. That trend continues with the 2017 Lexus LS 460, a full-size sedan that represents the best of the brand.
The LS is fast and comfortable with dynamic exterior styling, but also efficient and dependable when it counts. This four-door, five-seat full-size luxury sedan is available in standard and long-wheelbase versions and has a starting MSRP of $72,520.*
Standard features include rain-sensing wipers, a leather interior, 16-way driver and 12-way passenger power-adjustable front seats, navigation, power tilt/telescoping multifunction steering wheel, a 10-speaker audio system, and Siri Eyes Free® voice control for iPhone users. Drivers can also outfit their LS in a number of styles, ranging from the performance-focused F SPORT to the sleek and stylish F SPORT Midnight Edition.
The Perfect Ride for…
Drivers with an appreciation for the many benefits of a traditional executive sedan experience. The Lexus LS 460 stays true to the original LS by offering extravagant luxury with the sensibility and value that parent company Toyota is known for. The impeccably crafted leather interior cradles you and your passengers in the utmost comfort while advanced technology, including the Lexus Remote Touch interface, provides a uniquely modern driving experience.
Drive & Handling
The LS 460 features a 4.6-liter V8 with 386 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. It’s offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and standard rear-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. The LS 460 will do 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds with rear-wheel drive, or 5.9 seconds with all-wheel drive, and every LS model is electronically limited to 130 mph.
The LS 460 gets 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway) with rear-wheel drive, and 18 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.**
Lexus offers an available Adaptive Variable Air Suspension for a more refined driving experience, replacing the standard coil springs with electronically controlled air springs and adaptive shock absorbers. This intelligent system automatically adjusts based on road condition and driving style and can also be tailored through the driver-selectable drive modes.
Key Features
F SPORT Package
F is Lexus’ performance sub-brand, and F Sport models add a little extra sportiness to the brand’s lineup. Available only on the standard-wheelbase LS 460, it adds a bit of spice to the model thanks to 19-inch forged alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential (for rear-wheel drive models), sport suspension, sport seats, paddle shifters, Brembo® brakes, and model-specific styling.
Ultra Luxury and Executive-Class Seating Packages
Lexus offers an Ultra Luxury Package which includes four-zone climate control, power rear seats with climate control, lumbar massage, and butterfly headrest, rear air conditioning, rear audio controls, and rear side airbags. The top-of-the-line Executive-Class Seating Package includes all of the above features as well as leather door trim, leather-trimmed glove box and instrument panel, a power ottoman seat with massage and ottoman knee airbag, and a rear-seat entertainment system. With all of those features, you may never want to leave the back seat.
Alternative Options
While the LS 460 is the automaker’s flagship sedan, Lexus also offers a number of other options to meet different price points and driving needs. The Lexus GS stays true to the luxury mission of Lexus, but also offers a sporty character to entice enthusiastic driving. With the 2017 ES, Lexus takes a different approach to entry-level luxury than most other automakers by proving that luxury cars don’t have to be sporty. The ES offers a remarkably spacious interior, a more luxurious ride, and more standard equipment than most other cars in the segment.
