Overview
We live in a world where traditional industries are being disrupted all the time. Companies like Netflix, Airbnb, and Uber have found success by providing new and imaginative ways to meet the needs of consumers. With the K900, Kia is doing some disrupting of its own, providing traditional levels of luxury (and more) but at prices that are much more agreeable for the modern car-shopper.
Indeed, the K900 is an impressive, five-passenger luxury sedan that personifies exclusivity while featuring a far more inclusive MSRP of $49,000.* Available in V6 Premium, V6 Luxury, and V8 Luxury trims, the K900 now comes standard with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Perfect Ride for…
Luxury shoppers who appreciate a great value. The 2017 Kia K900 is a new breed of luxury vehicle; one that doesn't rest on its reputation, but instead draws in consumers with its riveting performance and refreshing value. The K900 is impressively equipped and offers expansive space for your passengers to sit back and relax on the refined leather seating.
Drive & Handling
The 2017 Kia K900 is powered by a standard 3.8-liter V6 engine that serves up 311 horsepower and 293 pound-feet of torque. A grizzlier 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates 420 hp and 378 lb-ft of torque is also available.
As on every K900 model, an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard. Eight might sound like a lot, but the added gears help the K900 accelerate smoothly and efficiently when called into action.
The responsiveness of either engine can be adjusted by the driver between three different shift modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Not only do these models allow you to tailor vehicle performance to meet your individual needs, but it also helps manage fuel economy, which rests at an EPA-rated 20 mpg combined (17 city/25 highway) for V6 models and 18 mpg combined (15 city/23 highway) with the V8.**
Key Features
Head-Up Display (HUD)
The customizable Head-Up Display (available on V6 Luxury and V8 Luxury models) projects key driving information onto the windshield in a clear line of sight. The system makes it easy to track your speed, navigation info (if available), and more with a glance, and the display automatically adjusts its brightness based on driving conditions.
Advanced Safety
The 2017 Kia K900 now comes standard with a pair of previously optional advanced safety technologies. The Blind Spot Detection System (BSD) reduces blind spots beside and behind the vehicle, issuing visual or auditory alerts to warn you of objects outside of your field of view. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) is an added feature of BSD, using radar sensors in the rear bumper to scan for passing motorists as you back up and alerting you via lights and sounds.
Alternative Options
While the K900 is the pinnacle of Kia luxury, the automaker’s other sedans offer impressive premium quality for the price. The best-selling Kia Optima was recently redesigned with a stylish exterior, sensibly designed interior, and an array of powerful yet efficient engine options. The Kia Cadenza is all-new for 2017 with a new and improved platform, revised styling, and additional technology features.
