The 2016 Lincoln MKX has plenty to offer the driver, with its powerful 2.7-L twin-turbocharged V6, its adaptive steering, and the sweeping lines of its exterior. Passengers too will enjoy its best-in-class seating, extensive legroom, and RevelĀ® Audio System. But what about those people that can sometimes be irrationally difficult to please? We're talking of course about children, and when it comes to children, 3Birds Template knows that their safety is paramount. That's why we were so pleased to hear that the 2016 MKX scored so well on Cars.com's Car Seat Check.
Overall, the MKX scored very well, with 3 As and two Bs in the five seat types: Latch (A), Infant (B), Rear-facing convertible (A), Forward-facing convertible (A), and Booster (B). The team used a Graco SnugRide Classic Connect 30 infant-safety seat, a Britax Marathon convertible seat and Graco TurboBooster seat for the check, with the seats adjusted for a 6-foot driver and a 5-foot-6 passenger. Also, the team tested an all-wheel drive model with leather seats, so keep that in mind when considering the results.
The folks from Cars.com really liked that two sets of Latch anchors were easily accessible, not to mention three top tether anchors, making securing a variety of car seats a breeze. The 2016 MKX gets an A overall in the Car Seat Check, defined as "Plenty of room for the car seat and the child; doesn't impact driver or front-passenger legroom. Easy to find and connect to Latch and tether anchors. No fit issues involving head restraint or seat contouring. Easy access to the third row."
