New for 2015
The Rogue is still fresh off its 2014 redesign and as such remains virtually unchanged for the 2015 model year.
Just the Right Mix
It seems like the world is constantly shifting into higher gear; it’s not slowing down and neither are you. You’ve got places to go and things to get done. You can’t stop and smell the roses as much as you would like – or probably should – but that’s just the way it is. Naturally, you need a car that can help get the job done—whatever that job may be.
That’s where the 2015 Nissan Rogue comes in. Hot off the heels of last year’s redesign, the Rogue returns with its potent mix of power, versatility, comfort, and signature Nissan style.
Powertrains and Performance
The 2015 Nissan Rogue is motivated by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It provides smooth and steady acceleration when you need it thanks to a optimized continuously variable transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available.
Fuel economy has become increasingly important to drivers and Nissan recognizes this. That’s why the 2015 Rogue returns an excellent EPA-estimated 28 mpg combined (26 city/33 highway) when paired with standard FWD.* Meanwhile, adding AWD nets 28 mpg combined (25 city/32 highway).*
Features and Trims
Buyers today want bang for their buck, and the 2015 Nissan Rogue is happy to oblige. It starts at $22,790** and is available in three trims: S, SV, and SL. We mentioned earlier the Rogue’s versatility and we weren’t blowing smoke up your tailpipe. While the Rogue comfortably seats five passengers, it can be outfitted to carry seven passengers (a rarity in the compact crossover segment), courtesy of an optional third row of seating.
Standard equipment for S models include, 17-inch wheels, LED running lights, keyless entry, cruise control, and air-conditioning with rear vents. Also standard are a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a nifty 40.20.30-split backseat that folds, slides, and reclines. Tech fans will also appreciate the Rogue’s standard five-inch color infotainment display, rearview camera, Bluetooth® connectivity, and four-speaker sound system.
The SV adds 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, rear privacy glass, roof rails, keyless ignition/entry, a six-way power driver seat (with power lumbar), dual-zone automatic climate control, NissanConnect smartphone app integration, and a six-speaker sound system.
The SL includes all of the SV’s features (where applicable) and adds 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, heated mirrors, and a power liftgate. It features a number of creature comforts often found in luxury models, such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, 360-degree parking camera system, and larger seven-inch touchscreen display. A navigation system and an eight-speaker Bose® audio system with six-CD changes are also included.
Drivers can further outfit their Rogue with a number of optional packages. These include a Family package, which adds a third-row seat, rear privacy glass, and run-flat tires. A Premium package, which adds the SL’s standard navigation, bigger touchscreen, and Around View 360-degree camera, to name a few. And the SL Premium package, which features LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and additional safety features.
Exterior/Interior
We’re admittedly smitten by the 2015 Rogue’s dapper design. Here is a crossover SUV that exudes charisma, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s more eye-catching than ever before, with its sleek new suit and distinct V-shaped grille. Some polished brightwork surrounding the side windows add even more flair, while the premium-grade LED taillights add that extra touch of sophistication.
It’s not all superficial styling, though. Nissan has improved the Rogue’s aerodynamics, which contributes to overall better fuel economy than previous models. It’s the perfect example of form and function working together in harmony.
Step inside the cabin and the 2015 Rogue is equally easy on the eyes, thanks to an attractive and spacious interior that is both driver-focused and family friendly. Material quality is of particular note, with plenty of soft-touch surfaces. Leather upholstery can be had on SL model, too. And, of course, the Rogue offers plenty of passenger and cargo space, regardless of choosing two or three rows of seating.
Safety
The 2015 Nissan Rogues comes with a comprehensive safety suite that includes standard stability and traction control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, a rearview camera, and hill-start assist.
Bottom Line
The 2015 Nissan Rogue is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a confident and charismatic crossover SUV. The Rogue’s powerful mix of technology and strong fuel economy, coupled with its sleek styling, edge it past the competition—making it one of the most complete crossover SUVs on the market. Believe us when we say that this is one rogue you won’t mind embracing.
