Year after year the Range Rover Evoque continues to improve. For the 2015 model year, the Evoque gets an optional self-parking system. Additionally, the Evoque’s blind-spot monitor now comes with rear-cross path later. A Convenience package for Pure and Pure Plus trims now bundles navigation with keyless entry/ignition, while a new Black Dynamic package includes various black exterior touches for a sleek and sporty look. Rounding the Evoque’s new features is a new mobile app (InControl Apps) and two Autobiography models, along with other slight performance upgrades.

The Evoque’s space-age styling is reminiscent of a science-fiction movie, with a futuristic, almost organic body shape that commands attention wherever it goes. Powertrains and Performance

Standard exterior equipment in the four-door Pure model includes 18-inch alloy wheels, rain sensing windshield wipers,  rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and keyless ignition/entry. Standard interior equipment includes driver-selectable drive modes, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, and partial leather upholstery. Tech features comprise of Bluetooth® smartphone connectivity and audio streaming, along with an eight-inch touchscreen and 11-speaker sound system with CD player and two USB ports.

Alternatively, the Evoque coupe (Pure Plus) includes all of the above but adds 19-inch wheels, front and rear foglights, power liftgate for easy loading and unloading, and a panoramic sunroof that seems to stretch for miles and must really be witnessed to believe. The interior upholstery also receives and upgrade from partial leather to full leather.

Drivers looking to stick with the four-door model can also get the above amenities by selecting the Pure Plus trim for the four-door model.

For the ultimate Evoque experience potential owners will want to explore the Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic trim levels. The former includes special 20-inch wheels, silver exterior accents, a black contrast roof, and a unique front fascia, complete with “crystal” headlights and taillights.

The Autobiography Dynamic receives black exterior accents, tinted headlights, clear taillights, dark aluminum interior inlays, along with the previously mentioned performance upgrades, including a sport-tuned suspension, sport-programmed transmission, and larger front brakes.

Exterior/Interior

An eye-pleasing clamshell hood and pinched greenhouse are but two styling highlights for the 2015 Evoque. While the majority of the exterior carries over from the previous model year, potential owners will be more than pleased thanks to the car’s forward-thinking design. With the same athletic stance and raked front-end, the Evoque is the poster-child for what a modern luxury crossover can and should be. And while discerning types will surely gravitate to the more practical four-door model, those more obsessed with form over function will happily retire to their two-door models.

In contrast to the space-age exterior is a more straightforward interior. As expected, material quality is of the highest caliber. Other details, like buttons and switches, have a quality feel, while seating is both comfortable and supportive. Despite its pinching roofline, passenger space is good with enough space to accommodate three passengers in the second row. Drivers concerned with cargo room need not worry as both models offer up ample space. For the four-door, 51 cubic feet is on hand with the rear seats folded down, while that number dips slightly in the two-door at 47.6 cubes.

Safety

Standard safety features on all 2015 Range Rover Evoque models include antilock brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Also standard are front and rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.

Optional safety equipment includes the aforementioned blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree parking camera, and an adaptive cruise control system that’s bundled with a frontal collision warning system, which is capable of applying the brakes when an imminent collision is detected.
